1914 - Tasmanian Jack Badcock is born. Badcock made his first-class debut at the age of 15, the second youngest Australian to do so. Noted for making some large scores, he played for Tasmania and South Australia and in 1936 made 325 for South Australia against Victoria. Other big knocks included 271 in 1938-39 and 274 in 1939-40.
