Just take the radio (or at least the serial number) to the service department at you dealer. They may also want the V.I.N. from your car.
VW Mechanic: OK That serial number worked, it is not the same one you posted earlier, your radio code is 1069. You will need to wait for the lock out to time out, key on for at least one hour, if you drive the car and allow it to run for over one hour the time lock will expire and y ou should be able to enter the correct code.
Some of the labels in the trunk do have the radio number. It's a four-number code. It won't hurt to try the 2334, but it's a '96 and I don't think that is really it. We have found the radio will reset itself at times. It's a 256K chip. The chip 'counts down' if left alone. It will reset if the key and radio are left on for more than 255 minutes.
