It can also be retrieved with the unit in the car or just by the serial number. Definitely, have the dealer look it up with the serial of the head unit and the car's VIN. I had my RCD-510 replaced under warranty before I put the Pioneer in there. They actually wrote the security code on the head unit itself with a Sharpie.
Hi, I need a VW radio security code. I just bought a used radio replacement for my Jetta. The serial number of the radio is VWZ4Z7M3356592R and the VIN of the car is 3VWLL7AJ5DM382675. Can someone look up the radio code for this radio? Thank you. -Antonio (The already tried is the SN and VIN, have not tried anything yet.)
Yes Use VAG_COM Do not use VAGTACHO to adopt your key and put "0" in front of SKC. Every Car has 4 digit code , car don't know about 7 digit code . 7 digit was made to do conversion in 4 digit code + 0 in front of SKC. And it was only provided by dealer. So what I saying any car if you 4 digit code you can adopt key.
comeauce Discussion starter. 12 posts · Joined 2012. #1 · Mar 7, 2014. I have a 2006 Beetle TDI. I am trying to retrieve the SKC code using VAG K+Commander 1.4 via the K-line. I cannot connect to the instrument cluster/immobilizer with any of the available settings. Has anyone out there had success retrieving the SKC code via the K-line?

When a dealer is doing an immobilizer adaptation, they transmit a plethora of data to VW and returns a hashed 6 digit pin which is then entered into the VAG software to do the adaptation. The 6 digit pin is only valid for that particular day. The only way to get your 4 digit SKC is to pull it from the instrument cluster.
The VIN is 3VW61C1WM036684 and the radio serial number is XXXXX. The radio did not come with the car. The car's original radio died and this was a replacement radio, I belive from a model ear a year or two older. VW Mechanic: vwtech0405. Your vin # XXXXX XXXXX to be 17 digits please double check.
To get the code number if you do not have the code, remove the radio and retrieve the Radio serial number off or the side (starts in AUZ) then call Audi’s customer assistance to speak with a Audi Customer CARE Advocate. Call 1-800-822-2834 (AUDI), Mon-Fri, 8 am to 8 pm, Eastern Time.
They included the VIN number of the original vehicle. I already called Audi dealership and they told me I have to bring the vehicle in order to retrieve the code and pay $70.00. I found the older post on this website when they were able to get the code. I was hoping to save the time going to the dealership.
I was then able to write a program that could wake up a module and send simple commands over the K-Line. Eventually I got it to the point where it could read/write bytes in the CCM EEPROM like VDS-PRO and retrieve the Safe code from a VW Premium V radio like Mike's tool. The big thing missing was the ability to read/write the cluster EEPROM.
