  2. Hertz Car Rental - Reddit

On 3/2/2024 afternoon, I walked into Hertz Car Rental Los Angeles International Airport (LAX), and rented an economy tier small sedan (Honda Civic) in office (no reservation or pre-payment). The price of $520.50 for 4 days ($109/day) was presented to me on the agent's computer screen, when I signed on their POS device, and paid with my credit card.

  3. Beware of Additional Charges Renting with Hertz : r/Venturex

Well, after returning the vehicle, I was charged an additional $105 by Hertz for “CONCESSION FEE RECOVERY,” “CUSTOMER FACILITY CHARGE,” and “TAX”. After contacting Capital One and Hertz, I was told that additional taxes and fees might apply that third-parties don’t account for. So, beware when making your reservation with Hertz.

The nice thing about ex-rentals is that companies like Enterprise, Hertz, etc are going to maintain them well and fix problems relatively quickly. A broken down car loses the company money, so there's arguably more preventative maintenance done on a rental than a privately owned vehicle.

This is a damn tragedy, is what is. I went through Expedia to book a cheap rental car for the week. I did not need anything fancy, just something to get me to work and back while my car was in the shop (don't get me started on that). So all in $300 a week with insurance..not too bad. I get there..and they wanted to give me a mofo MOVING VAN. WTH?

I tried booking a car of hertz.com to have a vehicle while on vacation in Poland. I selected to have insurance and extra coverage on the website, paid for a car seat, and after prepaying over $500 for the car once I got to Warsaw airport I was given 3x the amount additionally to pay. Something about there being a large deposit for US drivers.

It is against the FEDERAL TRADE COMMISSION RULES (laws regarding car rental facilities, and other businesses, but a specific clause is dedicated to rental car companies because they so egregiously take advantage of unsuspecting customers by claiming a reserved vehicle is unavailable in an effort to get more of your hard earned money by ...

  8. Is Hertz really as bad as they say? : r/TravelHacks - Reddit

    www.reddit.com/r/TravelHacks/comments/1bcuk9a/is_hertz_really_as_bad_as_they_say

Hertz is the absolute worst, and I don't say this mildly. Many people here are saying they rented without issue, but a car rental company shouldn't be judged when everything goes well, they should be judged when things don't go as planned.

  9. What rental car rewards is the best? Switching off Hertz

    www.reddit.com/r/awardtravel/comments/15qxxbo/what_rental_car_rewards_is_the...

National has been pretty good since the last 2 airports had the Aisle, but it costs more than my Avis or Hertz negotiated rate. National’s footprint isn’t as good as Hertz or Avis either, I’m probably gonna have to rent at Hertz while in Europe this summer.

  10. i just got like 66% off my car rental? : r/TravelHacks - Reddit

    www.reddit.com/r/TravelHacks/comments/uub2b4/i_just_got_like_66_off_my_car_rental

Been checking car rental for 13 days in canada for about a week now, and i haven't found anything for less than like $2,000-$2,500. After much searching, found a random aggregator site for car rentals and found a full-size car from hertz for about $909 and booked it. The site was kind of sketchy looking, but a lot of them are.

  11. Hertz Certified Pre Owned, good idea? : r/askcarsales - Reddit

Hey trying to have a real conversation about this, ignoring other guy. Anyway, suppose the cost of maintaing a rental car were 108% of the cost of maintaining a non-rental car. That difference (8%) isn't enough to run a 20/20 story, but might be enough to sway people one direction or the other.
