  2. Hobby Lobby Fabric? - The Quilting Forum - Missouri Star's Quilt...

    forum.missouriquiltco.com/.../general-discussion/49816-hobby-lobby-fabric

I don't have much experience with Hobby Lobby fabric, they just opened the first store near me. Of course I went to check it out. They have a decent selection of quilting cottons, not really any big name designers but nice prints in a wide range of colors. I bought a few yards, the prices were good. The fabric has a nice feel to it but I haven ...

  3. Sew-ology Thread - The Quilting Forum - Missouri Star's Quilt...

    forum.missouriquiltco.com/forum/we-don-t-know-much-but-we-know-quilters/...

Re: Sew-ology Thread My experience with their hand quilting thread is very bad. I will have to use it only for basting and setting up quilts in the frames. Hand quilting sew-ology thread is very thick, draggy, hard to thread, and twists while stitching. I have been hand quilting for @20 yrs and have never used such a poor thread for hand quilting.

I'm a little late to the discussion, but I have to agree with the majority,, I buy fabric wherever I find it,,, LQS here charge between $9.95 up to $12 per yard, but if I really want it I'll pay the price.

  5. Hobby Lobby PreCuts - The Quilting Forum - Missouri Star's Quilt...

    forum.missouriquiltco.com/.../16996-hobby-lobby-precuts

January 25, 2013, 04:26 PM. Was at Hobby Lobby today and for the first time, I noticed ours has precuts from a line called Fabric Palette Jellies. They were $12.99 (so only $7.79 with the 40% off coupon) - thought it was a great deal until I noticed there are only 20 strips per roll... Fabric is nicer than that of the Stripz brand, but not as ...

Hobby Lobby will never beat my LQS in terms of quality or the personal touch/support, but they are heads and shoulders ahead of Joanns or Walmart. Their fabric is not the best, but overall not bad. I like to shop there for craft supplies/Christmas wrap, etc, things not carried in the quilt shops.

  7. Soft and Stable vs. Pellon FF77 stabilizer - The Quilting Forum...

    forum.missouriquiltco.com/forum/missouri-star-quilt-company/product-discussion/...

April 10, 2015, 12:03 PM. I found the Pellon FF77 stabilizer at JoAnns today ( thanks Bubba for the heads up on this!). It was $9.99 regular price, no 1/2 off coupons today. The problem I see with it is that it is only 20" wide. A yard of Soft and Stable is $18.28 from Walmart or a 2 yard pack was $35. You would need almost 3 yards of the ...

  9. LQS quilt fabric vs Joann/hobby lobby fabric

November 16, 2014, 08:43 AM. Re: LQS quilt fabric vs Joann/hobby lobby fabric. I think some of the fabric at Joann's is fine. You need to feel it and be careful. I save on fabric by buying premium wide muslin for backing and buying online. You can get good deals online from M* and others.

  10. Where can I find cute laminate fabric? - The Quilting Forum -...

    forum.missouriquiltco.com/forum/we-don-t-know-much-but-we-know-quilters/...

They have Thermoweb and Pellon iron on laminate vinyl, which is probably cheaper in the long run than buying already laminated fabric. That can be pretty expensive and the choices are limited. With the iron on you can use whatever fabric you like. I've found it cheaper on Amazon than at Joann's.

  11. Fusible fleece instead of batting? - The Quilting Forum -...

    forum.missouriquiltco.com/forum/we-don-t-know-much-but-we-know-quilters/...

I have seen a few people mention using the fusible fleece in their tote bags instead of batting and that they were happy with the results. I personally have not used the fusible fleece. If you do a search on this site for "fusible fleece" you will pull up the threads where it was mentioned. I would think if it worked for a tote, it would work ...
