damaged the side wall of my michelin defender ... all the tire had between 6/32-7/32. Didn't want to replace with a new tire as it could end up with potential power train/transmission issues with uneven sized tire diameters (old shoe vs. new shoe). Came across United tires and found the exact match for my need. The customer support was able to locate the right tire, verified the treadwear left (7/32), confirmed that there were no patches and even provided the mfg week & year (its a 4 digit DOT code). The tire met my expectations. I would suggest talking to customer support to know the tire history, any repairs and mfg date to make a well informed decision and not end up with buyer's remorse. Definitely recommend.
