The guy on the desk at Goldcar was possibly the rudest person I have ever dealt with. He definitely shouldn’t work in customer service. He was very put out we had our own Insurance and therefore did not require his. If goldcar and up as an option in qeeq again I would not book.
There was rubbish remaining in the loadspace of the vehicle when we collected the car at Miami. We also had no positive outcome re the lost item we reported after our first hire.
The counter staff was good, did not try to sell additional unnecesssary insurance. Prompt service, car was ready. I did not get the car though. I booked an estate but got a small-medium SUV. Not sure if its an upgrade. In any case the most important to us was the luggage space. Thankfully we were able to just about squeeze ours in. I specifically booked an estate for the purpose of the luggage space.
About QEEQ:10.0/10
I am happy with the level of engagement even after booking. I was reminded 9f my booking, pick up and drop off process and locations. All very clear and makes it feel like I am not left on my own after the booking.
I was extremely tired when picking up car that I paid for. The operator in SFO was pleasant but bamboozled me with an upgrade which I apparently did to an extra cost of some $1500. The car was great because of the "in car directions" but I thought is was far too expensive considering I had already paid over £950 in the UK for the car which I thought would be the total cost. Totally unaware of drop-off charges because it was dropped off in a different state
The car did exceed my expectations, really good for our purposes. There was damage to the bonnet of the car that had not been reported and had I not noticed it I could have been held liable hence I have marked down the condition of the car.
As there were 2 off us in the car it should have had 2 hi- visibility vests. It’s law in France that every person in the car has a vest in case of an issue. There was only one but when asked for we were supplied with one after 10 minutes or so. None of the staff seemed to know about this requirement.
Other than that, very happy and would rent here again.
“Great car, decent counter service, but very poor billing system.”
About Budget:10.0/10
The Jeep was a bargain and a great vehicle. But Budget kept billing my card an extra $1,500. Yep, they just charged it to the card 4 times throughout the booking, so around $6k in total which was all a mistake by Budget. So far two of them have been refunded, still chasing for the other two to be refunded. All up about 3hrs of my life spent on phone calls plus the hassle of my card going over it’s limited while waiting for these charges to get get reversed.

Great deals and a simple, clear booking plan process. I’ve referred a bunch of mates their way!
